It was her first time in the skies.
She didn’t even know that she had a plane, just that she was going to be a pilot.
Her first flight was at 11:00 am on March 1, 1927.
She made her first landing at 6:00 pm.
It took her the next four hours to make her first run.
She was flying over the Pacific Ocean, but she was getting lost and heading east, toward Mexico.
She decided to turn west and go into Mexico, instead of heading straight for the coast.
After taking off from the runway, Amelia Earham was heading east and south over the ocean.
Her plane was getting very close to land, so she turned and began to climb up the mountain.
When she reached the top of the mountain, she realized she wasn
